Yatta! by Green Leaves

“Yatta!”, a Japanese exclamation meaning “We did it!”, is a 2001 parody song by a fictional Japanese band called Green Leaves (はっぱ隊 Happa-tai). The song is a send-up of the boy band craze and is portrayed by some of Japan’s most well-known comedians wearing nothing but underwear with a large green leaf on the front.

Really cool video clip and not a bad song either. The band is Sour singing ‘Hibi no Neiro’. The clip is a well orchestrated compilation of webcam footage from fans of the band.

Lifetime Respect by Miki Douzan would have to be my favourite j-reggae track.

It’s is kind of a romantic reggae song sang in a gangster way. In the lyrics you hear isshou issho ni ite kureya which loosely translates as ‘stay with me forever’.
