To me nothing epitomises the sunny season in Japan more than the heavy hitting summertime rock release “Nuts Bang!!!”, the 23rd single of the Japanese rock band FLOW released on 22 July 2009 to celebrate summer.
The upbeat, fun and enjoyable surf-inspired track is in the embedded video below. The opening sequence kicks off in a surgery with band members Keigo (playing a nerd, vocalist), Kōhshi (a hippy dude, vocalist), Take (a simpleton, guitarist), Gotō (a shy introvert, bassist) and Iwasaki (a yakuza-looking businessman, drummer) all looking to gain muscle surgically. Their dream comes true at around 1.27m (of the clip) when the actual song starts and they hit the beach with their newly bulked up bodies.
Throughout the music video you see bikini-clad glimpses of model Megumi Ikeda but then that is followed by some rather effeminate looking handkerchief twirling at 3.27m. There is also some death growl guttural vocals at 3.54. The track utilises Take’s guitar churning and includes rapping and singing about “Summer Days”.
As for the song title Nuts Bang!, which evil gaijin translated that name? Apparently the song title is supposed to be interpreted as “Natsu Bang(u)” – or “Summertime Explosion”. Hmmmm, supposedly.

Your memory is slipping. I was the police officer assigned to the parade and i was waving a “Cease and desist” order at you due to your elaborate dancing with your male friends. I know you still hold a grudge but i am a police officer and your g-string had slipped off, not to mention your “toys” were falling out of your holster and into the crowd and there were families there. Scotty, wearing a leather police outfit (like the image of you below) due to your obsession with dressing up as gay fetish stereotypes (not to mention your idol being the police office from The Village People) doesn’t make you an actual officer of the law. I think maybe you had one too many peni-coladas at the parade buddy. Luckily the N.S.W. police department doesn`t issue uniforms from your current outfitter (which i see is http://www.gearfetish.com – interesting!). You should also note that your friend`s picture says “Biker Mike”, so I assume he is a motorcycle “friend” of yours, and not a police officer. Remember there are penalties for impersonating a police officer so I hope you and Mike keep it clean – well at least your rap sheets!).

Hahaha… the thing that came to my mind with the “handkerchief” twirling was that it was indeed underwear (ok… this most probably says something deeply disturbing about myself)… but was really disturbing was that I couldn’t help but think that they were waving about someone else’s Uniqlo underwear… given how colour-defined they are. Maybe I’m just thinking a little too much about it…
LOL! Now that you mention it, and you look closely, I can see Uniqlo. Actually, I can see some medieval English folk dance moves, like these Morris dancers.
