The Calamari Wrestler (Japanese title: Ika resuraa) is a 2004 Japanese film by director Minoru Kawasaki, starring Kana Ishida and Osamu Nishimura. The New York Times describes it as ‘a cross between The Muppets and Godzilla’.

The Calamari Wrestler
It is the story of a professional wrestler who, after developing a terminal illness, becomes a giant squid-like creature. Apparently it is a good thing for a wrestler to become a squid-like creature as invertebrates can get out of any hold.
