Hello there! If you are new here, you may wish to subscribe to the RSS feed or get updates delivered to your inbox.

The Ōsaka Castle was originally completed in 1583. It was built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, with the help of about 100,000 workers over a 3 year period, as a display of power after he unified Japan.

Over the years it has been destroyed and rebuilt. The present structure is a 1931 reconstruction of the original castle which was refurbished in 1997.
