Goo Goo Gaa Gaa

Hi, my name is Ash. I have been very sick lately. I was in hopital. On Saturday night I got really hot and I started to shake. Mummy and daddy got really worried (well, mummy got really worried and daddy told her to settle down).

I went to the hospital and mummy and daddy were really mean to me. They let strange people do bad things to me. I cried a lot.

Firstly, they took my nappy off and daddy stood in front of me for 2 hours with a cup in his hand waiting for me to pee. When I finally did, daddy caught half of it in the cup and the other half landed on mummy’s shoe. I was trying to get daddy in the face, but I missed.

Then, they took me to this strange machine. Daddy had to wear an iron apron and hold me on the cold metal bed and the lady took a special photo of my chest. Daddy looked really silly in his apron. He never cleans or cooks. Why would he need an apron? Daddy asked the lady if she had a French maid’s iron apron but she got angry with him and told him to leave.

Next they put a needle in my arm and took some blood from me. It really hurt. Mummy and daddy just stood there and watched as the mean man and lady did this. I was looking at them expecting them to help me but they didn’t do anything. I am very upset with them. How could they do this to me? They are supposed to protect me. Obviously they don’t care about me.

One hour later, the doctor came back and said that my blood had double the white blood cells than what it should have. Everyone looked worried. They looked in my ears, nose, eyes and down my throat and said that they could not find anything. They said that I had an infection, but didn’t know where it was. Then some idiot in a white coat came along and said that I might have meningitis or meningococcal. So they took me to a special room, but mummy and daddy didn’t come. I was very scared. The mean lady pushed my head between my knees and the mean man stabbed me in the spine with a needle to get some fluid. It hurt so much that my bowels released on the table and I did a wee. I was very embarrassed but it was very painful.

Then the mean lady took me to mummy and daddy and they gave me a big cuddle. But they are so fake! Why would they let the mean man and lady do bad things to me and then pretend to give me a big cuddle afterwards? I am not sure about these guys.

So, then I got admitted to the hospital. But I lost my appetite and my fever was very high (around 40 degrees). Everyone was concerned that I would dehydrate so I needed to be on a drip. I was in hospital for 3 days.

Now I am better. I have a blocked nose though so I snore at nights which keep mummy and daddy awake. I am punishing them for letting the people do bad things to me.
