Lee and Izumi in PortoWell, the weather has improved… enough that I can almost feel that I almost got sunburnt one day.

We made it through Portugal… barely… drank way to much 40-year old Port in Porto! Then went to Madrid via Lisbon then on to Barcelona. Barcelona was fantastic!

Delicious prawn dish in PortoMade our way to Nice. The Mediteranean is beautiful but the rocky beaches are just wrong (can you call it a beach if there are no waves???). People sunbake on the rocks. It is like they are getting a Swedish massage and a tan at the same. Weird! Called into Cannes and copped the back-end of the film festival. Sat next to a film producer on the train… although we chatted, he never picked out my amazing acting ability!!! Then made a stop-over in Monaco and copped a bit of the Grand Prix – talk about unplanned yet well-timed.

Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada FamíliaThe train ride from Barcelona to Nice was amazing… all the way along the Riviera… the train line runs right along side the Mediteranean.

From there, we made our way to Milan… at this point Izumi got really (how you say in Italian) ‘pisa’d off’ and wanted to end the holiday because we got ripped off in a cafe. She decided that she hated Italians. It only lasted one night… until we got to Venice… and now she loves them again. Now she hates Germans because a big German guy stepped on her foot. She already hated Brits because we had to work with a group of them. I told her that she should just be like and me and just hate everyone! Its easier.

Lee in Monte CarloRight now we are in Venice. Tomorrow, we will travel to Innsbruck in Austria on our way to Munich for BEER!!! Havent decided what to do after that but the thought is something like Munich to Slovenia, Slovenia to Vienna, Vienna to Prague, Prague to Berlin… the rest is way to far ahead.

Lee in Saint EmilionWell, Izumi and I made it through Bordeaux´s vineyards relatively unscathed. We spent a total of 5 days in the region.

We are now in Porto, Portugal after making an “all-nighter” across Spain and the Iberian peninsular.

The weather's lousy but our cocktails are greatThe weather has been pretty crappy. When we were in London, we thought the rain, drizzle and overcast days was actually really good weather for the British… well, the Brits were in singlets and shorts with zinc cream on their noses. But, the bad weather seemed to follow us to Paris, then to the south of France. Now it is in Portugal.

I blame Izumi… why? Because I can! Ok, because she isn´t watching as I type this.
